چکیده
Abstract The dispersion of air pollutants emitted from industries has been studied ever since the dawn industrialisation. present work focuses on investigating effect negative atmospheric temperature gradient and plume stack orientation two individual equal-height stacks vertical rise plume. study carried out upon three-stack layout configurations namely inline, 45° non-inline, separated by an inter-stack distance 12 times exit chimney diameter (12 D ) 22 (22 in each case over gradients −0.2 K/100 m −0.5 m. turbulence is modelled using realisable k-ε model, a model used FLUENT flow solver. In inline configuration, upwind shields its downwind counterpart, which turn allows for higher at given gradient. oscillates more than non-inline cases. Also, m, plumes oscillate violently direction, mainly because, with initial plume, cold altitudes moves down forms layer lower closer to ground. important highlight characteristics under conditions.

Plume dispersion on a fringing coral reef system
A field program was implemented on a fringing reef located on Oahu, Hawaii, to investigate the dispersion characteristics of near-bed dye plumes, tracked using an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) with an onboard fluorometer. The combination of moored and AUV-based measurements collected synchronously in this study allowed us not only to observe the dispersion characteristics of individual pl...
متن کاملOn the Atmospheric Dispersion and Gaussian Plume Model
As an air pollutant is transported from a source to a potential receptor the pollutant disperses into the surrounding air so that it arrives at a much lower concentration than it was on leaving the source. Strict environmental regulations worldwide resulted in an ever growing concern about the validity and reliability of air quality dispersion models. The present work is a try to evaluate the a...
متن کاملGeneral plume dispersion model (GPDM) for point source emission
Gaussian-based dispersion models are widely used to estimate local pollution levels. The accuracy of such models depends on stability classification schemes as well as plume rise equations. A general plume dispersion model (GPDM) for a point source emission, based on Gaussian plume dispersion equation, was developed. The program complex was developed using Java and Visual basic tools. It has th...
متن کاملa study on thermodynamic models for simulation of 1,3 butadiene purification columns
attempts have been made to study the thermodynamic behavior of 1,3 butadiene purification columns with the aim of retrofitting those columns to more energy efficient separation schemes. 1,3 butadiene is purified in two columns in series through being separated from methyl acetylene and 1,2 butadiene in the first and second column respectively. comparisons have been made among different therm...
